Dr. Nidhi Gupta has launched a movement to raise awareness about smart device addiction and enlighten her students to reclaim their time and attention in this technology driven economy and social media driven sense of self-esteem. Through her research and clinical work, Dr. Gupta is devoted to exposing the dangers of smart device overuse, and addiction to video games and internet. Her work shows that screentime addiction causes or contributes to an array of physical and psychological health challenges such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, sleep disorders, depression, loneliness, anxiety, addiction, and more.
Dr. Gupta has created a robust digital wellness program, ReConnect, that empowers parents, professionals, and students with a deep understanding of smartphone addiction and practical tools to prevent and/or mitigate this behavior, improve mindfulness, and elevate relationships.
